- RAPColour(TM) Help
- ------------------
-
- If you want any of your text to appear in different colours, you can use
- RAPColour(TM), RAP's Colour Control Codes. The format of these codes is fairly
- simple, and works like this:
-
- ^^bf
-
- b should be replaced with the Hex Digit that represents the desired
- Background Colour. f should be replaced with the Hex Digit that represents the
- desired Foreground Colour. b can be omitted AS LONG AS the character following
- f is not one of the allowed Digits. The allowed Digits, and their colours, are
- listed below. Case is irrelevant (i.e. c and C are the same).
-
- Digit | Foreground (f) Colour | Background (b) Colour)
- ---------+-------------------------+--------------------------
- 0 | Black | Black
- 1 | Blue | Blue
- 2 | Green | Green
- 3 | Cyan (Turquoise) | Cyan
- 4 | Red | Red
- 5 | Magenta (Purple) | Magenta
- 6 | Brown | Brown
- 7 | Grey | Grey
- 8 | Dark Grey | Black with Flashing Text
- 9 | Light Blue | Blue with Flashing Text
- A | Light Green | Green with Flashing Text
- B | Light Cyan | Cyan with Flashing Text
- C | Light Red | Red with Flashing Text
- D | Light Magenta | Magenta w/ Flashing Text
- E | Yellow | Brown with Flashing Text
- F | White | Grey with Flashing Text
-
- RAPColour(TM) works anywhere, including TalkTypes, whispers, General
- Actions, descriptions, and even handles! Even if you do not have colour on
- your end, you can still send colourized text to other users that do. Of
- course, you won't be able to see what the text looks like, but at least you can
- do it.
-
- Colour changes remain in effect until the end of the paragraph you use them
- in (i.e. when you press ENTER after typing). You can change back to the
- default colour (i.e. the colour that is used if you don't change it) by using
- ^^ followed by a character that is not an allowed Digit. The most common use
- of this is after a word, as in the example that appears later.
-
- If you need to send two ^ characters in a row (i.e. ^^) then you need to
- use three ^ characters in succession in your text, like this: ^^^
-
- Here's an example of RAPColour(TM) usage:
-
- (you type) Boy, these ^^0FRAP Colour Codes^^ are sure ^^9FCOOL!
-
- This would cause the words "RAP Colour Codes" to appear in White, and the
- word "COOL!" to appear in Flashing White on a Blue background. All other words
- appear in the default colour. A ^^ at the end of a sentence is not needed,
- because RAP will clean things up for you.
-
- RAPColour(TM) is not as hard to understand as it may sound. The best way
- to learn about RAPColour(TM) is to play with it! Try sending some whispers to
- yourself with various RAP Colour Codes and see what the results are.
